Reflections From Women – nominated Women’s Legal Resource to receive a portion of book proceeds
About the book
An anthology of essays and poems
by women and for women
This book will be a fascinating collection of true, short stories written by women for women. Their personal essays and poems focus on turning points in their lives or times when they found themselves standing at a threshold, or on the cusp of major decision or a life changing event.
The women who have contributed to this anthology have shared the accounts of their personal struggles, difficult decisions, triumphs, heartbreaking losses, moments of pure joy and times of confusion and doubt in their lives. Their narratives offer insights, inspiration, hope, and a connection to other women who might also find themselves standing at the threshold, facing a similar life changing event or difficult decision. Their personal accounts introduce us to women who have found strength despite profound weariness, joy despite deep loss, and courage despite overwhelming adversity.
This book will shine a light on the difficult choices and provocative moments women face in their lives and how they carry on. The author will blend the stories and experiences into a shared connection that all women can identify with on their own life’s journey. This book will offer inspiration and hope on life’s journey.
In keeping with the spirit of this women’s anthology, the lead author is committing a portion of the proceeds from this book to FIVE non-profit women’s agencies that assist women on global, national and local fronts. The decision to assist five organizations for a total of 35% of book proceeds was increased from three agencies and 25% of the proceeds due to the overwhelming responses as well as the needs and good work of these agencies. The book proceeds to be donated will be divided as follows:
1. one international organization to receive 10%
2. one national organization to receive 10%
3. three local, non-profit agencies to receive 5% EACH for a total of 15% of the proceeds.
